A new type of school activity?
The Great Big Tree Climbing Company works with a range of schools to provide unique activities for their pupils. Whether it’s a one off event or a series of regular dates incorporated into your outdoor activities program. Finding something different to keep your pupils engaged and excited isn’t easy, so we have put together some activities that are great for relationship building and confidence levels. We can simply provide the activities on your school site or arrange a venue near by.
All of our sessions are tailored to your requirements. However activities can include:
Tree Climbing: A fabulous activity for the whole class. Climb into the canopy and get a different perspective on your surroundings, and develop an awareness for the trees ecosystem and ecology.
Ariel Runway: Teams must work together to haul their classmates up our runway and experience rapid descent to the ground.
Giant Rope Swing: A great personal challenge, groups work together to encourage each other to complete the swing.
Team Building Activities: A range of great team activities designed to enhance team cohesion and develop trust and communication skills. Great as part of a multi activity package.
All of our sessions are run by our highly trained instructors. Whether your a primary, secondary or special needs school, our instructors will adapt each session accordingly. For the more confident climbers our instructors can advise them on more challenging routes and techniques. On the other hand for the less confident individuals they can feel free to sit and chat in the pleasant surroundings of the canopy. Regardless of ability, you can rest assured everyone will be fitted with a harness and helmet at all times whilst on our activities. Once at the top of the tree they’ll gain a perspective and appreciation of the outdoors which really can’t be found on any other activity.
“One of the best Sunday activities we have had. The boys all had a fantastic time. The guys that ran the day were brilliant, keeping the boys entertained all the time. They loved it and we can’t wait to book it again. Thank you so much.” Amy Dawson, Sunningdale School
What can your staff expect to get out of it?
• Great team building activity
• A new found self-confidence, which will encourage them to break out of their comfort zone.
• Motivation; a team building day is always a fantastic way to show your pupils you’ve recognised their achievements over the last year and wish to say thank you.
• Good exercise!
• A sense of achievement once they’ve entered the canopy of an 80ft tree.
• A completely new perspective on the great outdoors.
